Sonnet Love Will Not End
My sweet tiger lily has gone from me
The pale moon is gone, never to awake
Her dreams, her desires never to be
This cruel event, was it always her fate?
My heart is crying from a hidden wound
Caring companions can not numb the pain
I am a guitar crying out of tune
When I walk, I stagger, I need a cane.
A breeze brushes by, drying salty tears
The night stars shine; she smiles from above
I rise to stand and my smile is very near
Her spirit is with me, I sense her love.
I feel her warmth; smell her spring-like fragrance
Cloaked in her love, I am no longer tense.
